iShares and Orbis are delighted to invite you to an investment morning tea. You will have the opportunity to hear about the following topics:
iShares exchange traded funds (ETFs)
- the what, the how and the why of ETF's
With uncertain markets and volatility still the main trend, the strategies that advisers can control increase with significance.
It is for this reason that asset allocation and portfolio construction continue to grow in importance and are some of the main drivers for the growth in usage of exchange traded funds (ETFs). In this session John Jardim from iShares will look to demystify ETFs, explain the structure, liquidity and pricing of ETF's and importantly look at Australian and International portfolio strategies using iShares. |

Investing beyond banks & resources
- thinking differently about investing
As client exposure to Australian equities becomes increasingly homogenised this presentation will provide an insight into a different perspective on investing in the Australian market.
As Warren Buffett once said "investing is simple, it’s just not easy". In this presentation Chris Inifer will explore the nature of the mob mentality when it comes to investing - why are we as investors so keen to follow others when we know it is most likely the wrong thing to do? If for example we were building a bridge and 20 engineers tell you to build it in a certain way then you should probably listen but the same is most probably not true for investing! We will also discuss the virtues of style diversification looking beyond the short term volatility which is inherently a feature of the market. |
